Chia seed (Salvia Hispanica L.) is an ancient crop of the Mayans and Aztecs, cultivated in the tropical and sub-tropical valleys of Central and South America. Chia oil is obtained by extracting the oil from the seed using the cold press method. Andes-Harvest’s chia seed is cultivated in Bolivia and Argentina.
Chia oil contains a large content of Omega 3, with additional amounts of high-quality proteins and antioxidants. Omega 3 is a natural anti-inflammatory, has positive health effects on brain structure, the immune system, and also during pregnancy, fetal and child development amongst many other health benefits that chia oil provides.
Chia oil can be used as a salad dressing, as an ingredient to several applications including pasta manufacturing for instance, as a capsule supplement, or directly through spoon ingestion to help boost brain function as well as the many other health benefits chia has.
