These beans are known scientifically as Phaseolus vulgaris. All of them derived from a common bean ancestor originated in Peru. They spread throughout South and Central America, and then to India most likely through Indian traders. Beans were introduced into Europe in the 15th century by Spanish explorers. Argentina is well recognized by the world market as a high quality source for these beans together with a remarkable appearance and extraordinary taste. Argentina is also where ideal conditions are set and is where Andes Harvest grows beans to the world.
